Rick Toering

Outside General Counsel and Legal Advisor to the Board

Mr. Toering is a partner in the Northern Virginia office of Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice PLLC, practicing in the Intellectual Property Section.

Mr. Toering counsels clients in patent matters with a focus on the strategic development and procurement of patent portfolios. He routinely provides counsel regarding intellectual property matters in connection with financings, mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Toering is an adjunct professor at The George Washington University Law School where he teaches Patent Management and Strategy.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Toering was a Systems Engineer for General Electric and graduated from GE’s Advanced Course in Engineering. In addition to his law degree from The George Washington University, he holds a MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and a BS degree in Engineering Management, both from Michigan Technological University.

For Ambature, Mr. Toering is acting Ambature General Counsel and legal advisor to the board of directors. In addition, Mr. Toering is responsible for the development of the initial patent applications and IP strategy related to Ambature’s core technology.
